| | I understand that there are many different opinions on this forum-that is one of the reasons that I come here. But I am frustrated by the repeated response to all questions: "get an instructor and then do what the instructor says." Why can't we come here to seek other opinions? More answers to broaden our understanding? We know they aren't as "good" as our instructors answers-but they are from our peers, and have no financial basis. And why do some people seem only to judge the quality of other people's requests, and then refuse to answer if they do not like the question? This is hurtful and not productive. I would ask those posters who are judging other riders' questions and then posting unhelpful responses, to consider what it would be like to be alone in your riding-no friends, no family with any knowledge, only one instructor, who wants diverse opinions from other young riders. Is it so hard to give her that help? This forum allows young riders to have a voice, but by refusing to give a helpful answer, the posters are refusing to use that voice and are muting the voice of others. And why do people feel comfortable giving critiques on other riders, they don't just say "ask your instructor," but they refuse to answer any other questions about lessons or training? So many riders take the criticism so well, with appreciation and explanations, not excuses, when warranted. Why can't that same attitude be taken to answering questions? EVERYONE on here is learning something-humility is a better policy than pretention. I am so sick of seeing other riders' questions be dismissed as unimportant. Posters should either answer the question or ignore the post- not post something unproductive and in many cases, ride, commanding and hurtful. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!

| | wow that was some speech! go ask your instructer why we do that. J.K.! but one reason is that your instructer knows you better then we do. and sometimes its hard to give people advice when you haven't seen them ride. sometimes I feel like other people with more experience have more, well, experience in certain areas. so don't feel offended when somebody says "go ask your instructer" it just means they probabaly don't know what you should do. hope thats all cleared up now!

| Because most riders on here are pretty new to it. Also, if someone is having an issue with say, a bolting horse, we cannot be there every second offering advice. If they had a trainer there saying "Try *insert something here* and see if he stops", that would be a bit more valuable at the moment... And then there are ones like myself, with virtually no attention span who get sidetracked by something else and forget to go in the other forums and answer questions XD. So ah, if you have a question you'd like me to answer (providing I don't scare the snot out of you LOL), then you'd better just pm it XD.

| | I agree with what people above said. Basically, a good instructor has a lot of good answers; more so than the average YR member. There are really only a select few on this forum that have valuable answers to higher level riding. And some people like to annoyingly reply in questions about riding even if they dont know the answer but want to say they helped. And very nice writing!

| basically, the moral of the story is; don't post crap like "tlak to your instructor" if you don't know what teh heck you're talking about and jsut feel like you needed to say something to sound smart. because really, you sound like a newb anyways. there are some experienced peopel on here, and then there are some that are beginners. everyone nshould help everyone out in the areas that others lack.
if i randomly dissapear, it's because my sub is done with. ;] VD chicasss.

Plus, an instructor is THERE when you ride, offering solutions. Unless you can ride and use a laptop at the same time, we aren't...
