| my friends uses rope reins instead of leather like i use. first off, are they actually called rope reins? (i dont know and i want to get it right) and second do they affect your horse any different then leather ones? (can i use them and my pony wont really care) any help would be great!

| | I think what your friend might be talking about is nylon reins. They're of course like a nylon halter but just crafted a way and mostly used for speed events. If Im wrong on what type of reins they are then (oops).

| there like a lead rope but thinner and flatter. but she was useing them just for like pleasure riding

There are many different styles of reins. Yes there are reins made out of rope just like a lead rope only thinner, but there are some that are as thick as a lead rope. Flat nylon reins, and flat or round cotton reins, and braided reins. No the materials won't make much different to your horse. 


 These are my favorite reins. Flat braided cotton.

yeah split reins, all the pictures i posted where of gaming/barrel reins which like you said are the connected kind.
