| | Okay, ive been wanting to do dressage since last fall. so now that im finally able to learn i was wondering if anyone had any tips for starting dressage? i can control a horse at the walk,trot and canter do lateral movements and a little bit of extending, but not much else..
Dressage, its more then a sport, its a passion. Sabrina&Saber, the world's next Eventing stars.when you sit in the saddle, and it feels like nothing else matters then you know your ment to be a horseback rider.
if you've ever ridden in pajamas without shoe's, fallen off a horse, jumped over jump just because you wanted, and spent the entire day cleaning your horse for the horse show, then you can call yourself a real horseback rider.:)

| If you really want to do Dressage, the best thing for that is to get a trainer who has had lots of experience in that discipline. I'm sure no matter you;re area, you'll find a good one. I can help if you need.

| You need a trainer to do dressage correctly, especially when your just starting out. You can't just have your horse move sideways and call it a leg yield, nor can you have your horse running out form under you and call it an extended trot. There are more parts and movements to dressage than you could possibly figure out yourself, so if your serious about this then look into a good trainer.

| i'm a jumper, so i don't think i can be of much help. i think the best thing you can do is get a good trainer.

| | i was planing on getting trainer, there are actually a couple that are fairly close to house(i keep both my horses at my house).. so i just need to decide witch one, the first two ive never met, but the third one, i know, she also does saddle work(she recently helped me buy a saddle) so i think i may ask her to help.. no what i meant by "tips" was do you have any tips for like leg positioning(sp?), getting the currect seat ect.
