Whoo, Parelli! =DDDD *does happy dance and becomes exceedingly hyper*

We started dear old Tex on Parelli, and he does well with it. He already knows how to do the Circling Game, the YoYo Game, and the Porcupine Game, and he's only been learning it for a few days. He learns so quickly, and it's amazing how intelligent horses are in general. However, I have problem; when I ride him in the halter, he doesn't flex or turn with two reins. If you try and guide his head in one direction, he'll fight you and pull in the opposite direction. I've tried bumping and it doesn't work. What should I do?

For flexing:

Annie used to do that also. THey way I taught her was asking her realy slowly with gradual moovents to start to flex her head. Right when she started the motion of going to flex I released. Then slowly asked for more of a flex and more. And now she flexes realy well/

Ooooo! Me me me!
Teddy's owner even does it with him, so when i go out to visit him i do the Seven Games, and a little bit of Liberty. But we're still working our way to Level 2. He's been doing it since he was a weanling, and he enjoys it. He LOVES the Friendly game and the Porcupine game (is that the one?) but we have problems about going around me on the line. It's hard to stay behind his shoulders and point in the direction i want him to go without him turning around and standing. Any tips?
Thanks!

When he turns around and stands does he looks like hes asking a question( A happy exspresion, ears perked forward, and look like did I do it right). If so bring him in and give him a quick rup on the nose then yo-yo him and send him right back out.

If he doesnt look like hes asking a question. Turn the way he was circling until your facing him and ask him to keep mooving.

Do not look at him when he is mooving around you  unless your going to ask him to stop, change direction or change gate. Look at the ground. You can look at him out of the corner of your eye but dont derectly look at him. You will be able to feel if he stops.

Hope I helped

yay!

OK, I had Jester through all the 7 games, but when we moved him to a new barn he back tracked. Now he's having a really hard time with the circling game to the right. He'll competley run me down trying to go to the left and even tries to rear. This is a confidence issue cause he's being really one-sided, right? Help!

Thanks for the tip, but man, I am so confused right now. We had my trainer come out and look at/play with Tex, and I have never seen that side of him before. He's a mild right-brain extrovert and a bit of a right-brain introvert as well, and he's really uncomfortable with people trying to control or stop his forward motion. I myself am an unconfident rider, and right now I'm thinking that an unconfident rider and an unconfident horse might not work out.

We still have a few more days left on the trial, so I don't have to make a decision until Saturday. My trainer feels that I can work with Tex and make him better, but I'm just not sure what to do.

=/ Grrrr.
