what disciplinnes do you do? Appendixes can be very good horses because they are half quarter horse half thoroughbred, so you get a horse that is fast and  athletic, and can jump, go fast, can be strong, etc. They can jump and do pretty much any type of riding. Does that cover what you need or is there anything else?

There's an Appendix at my barn. She's awesome. She's really sweet and jumps 3ft courses, but has been jumped 3'6". She loves jumping. Dare To Dream is her show name, and her and I are bestest buddies. lol.  So yeah, they're really great horses. Here's a picture of her.

Hey! I have an appendix...

i have not met many but my horse has a reallly good temperment. He is only 6 years old and it is VERY rare that he spooks or anything. He has a great personality and loves to please.

Here ill post some pictures...

This one is from around christmas...

Heres another one from christmas... The chestnut horse on the right is a full quarter horse

Us riding...

Sorry if the pictures take a while to load.
Those are just a few i have--LOL.

So Taz is a horse that you saw online and want, right? Well just like any horse, you want to actually see the horse in person and check them out before purchasing them or making your final decisions.... and if you do decide to get him, i would highly recommend getting a vet check before purchasing him.... other than that.... GOOD LUCK!

Thanks D*D for the awesome banner!

First of all, Appendix's don't have to be half and half. They can be 25% QH and 75% TB, or the other way around.

My trainer owns an Appendix who is 75% TB. He shows Hunter Under Saddle at AQHA shows and does very well. He's 17.2hh as well.

Appendix's are more of your "huntseat" type horse, because of their build. Now i'm not saying that one can't do western, it's just the majority.

Their temperments and personalities differ, just like with any horse really. For the most part their not as "hot" as a TB, but then again, you can come across one like my trainer's who is quite hyper and a bit on the wild side.

I've got an Appendix. We think he's mostly QH, but you can definately see some TB in him. He's really calm. In the 3 years I've ridden him/leased him, he's only spooked about 5-10 times. Although, that also depends on the individual horse, but most Appendixes I've seen pretty calm and level headed. There are exceptions, but I haven't really met any of those yet.
He does English and Western and jumps as well. He used to be shown Western (we think) and then he became a school horse (English and Western as a schoolie) for 4 years or so, and now after he's been bought me and his owner both ride him English and jump with him. Sometimes I'll throw his Western saddle on every once in a while, just for fun, but he's and old pro at Western too.
I woudl def. recommend them as a really nice breed. Of course, QH's are my favorite, but Appendixes are my second favorite, and they give you the best of both worlds.

Here's some pictures of Justin too. If you look at him, especially in the confo pics and headshots, you can definately see QH but there's parts of him that are TB-ish as well.

I have an Appendix that toke after more of the QH  but has the fine head and finer legs and muscle tones. She is fantastic she is a 5 year old doing 2ft9 courses and is already a Champion Hunter! She was bought as a 1.5 year old by her previous owners at an auction due to the hay shortage out west in Canada a few years back they had to send a lot of well bred horses out to ontario and Quebec area. They trained her the basics w/t/c and I bought her at 2.5 years and taught her everything else.  She is a fast learner with exceptional movement and conformation with a really nice jump. She could easily be turned into an amazing dressage horse. She has also placed in the jumper ring and even in western pleasure!

So now presenting.... Mystic Dream also known by many as Magic!
