*Form*
*Name: Remington 'Remi' Dare*
*Age: 17*
*Gender: Female*
*Personality: RP it out*
*Background: She started riding as soon as she came home from the hospital, walking around in her mother's arms on the calmest horse on their ranch. When she turned two, she got her own pony and started riding alone, and started competing shortly after - barrel racing. By the time she was six, she'd started pole bending, goat tying, and breakaway roping, and had earned four belt buckles and a nice chunk of change from junior circuits. She kept getting better, and started training horses when she was nine. When she turned ten, she started dappling in eventing, never doing it seriously but occasionally teaching her training horses some tricks or going to a local event when she didn't have rodeo. In middle school, she got into more sports - namely soccer, volleyball and basketball - and worked hard to be the best in those as well as maintaining straight As in all her classes and riding between two and six horses a day. She managed all of them easily, and with her natural athletic talent, made all three varsity teams freshman year in high school. She became quite popular and maintained that status all four years. In late May of her senior year - shortly before graduation - there was a school hostage situation with three armed psychos. Remi got as many students out as she could, but when she discovered a few of her sophomore friends - members of the JV teams she coached sometimes - she ran back in to get them. She was shot four times but managed to survive, saving the lives of ten students and ending the hostage situation. She doesn't talk about it but she doesn't hide any of the scars either. Once she'd recovered, she threw herself back into riding with double the gusto.*

Should they be just arriving with their horses or should their horses already be there?

Remi pulled up to Sunray Stables at seven on a sunny Wednesday morning in late May. She'd just graduated a year early the night before, and now she was relishing in her newfound freedom with a trip to the barn. She climbed out of her brand-new purple Audi R8 - a graduation present from her gramma - after twisting the keys in the ignition and snatching them from the slot, locking the violet sports car behind her. She walked into the brand-new facility in a pair of freshly laundered Grace in LA jeans with a blingy front and matching back pockets, a lime green muscle tank top with a Mountain Dew logo on the front, purple patchwork Tin Haul boots with sugar skull soles, and a belt with big volcano crystal conchos and an intricate filagreed trophy belt buckle, proclaiming Remington Dare to be the NBHA Open 1D World Champion. Her hair was in a messy bun with chocolate curls artfully spilling in her face as she grabbed Skye's trophy bronc halter and went out to the mare pasture to catch the elegant buckskin.
~
Seth pulled up to the stables a while later in his fully restored black '67 Chevy Impala, parking it next to Remi's new car before getting out and heading out to the pasture. Annie's black nylon halter was buckled into a slat in the pipe fence, so Seth retrieved it before running out into the 8-acre pasture to find his mare.

Eleanor pulled up to the barn in her purple Mustang. She jumped out and headed to the pasture to grab Pi, stopping in the barn to get the mare's purple halter and lead rope. She looked around at the facilities. They were really nice, which she had made sure of before moving here.

Luke pulled up in his pickup truck. He got out and grabbed Gold's halter and lead from where they were hanging outside his stall and jogged to the pasture.

Ugh forgot how to make words link to a pic!

Remi smiled at the sight of Seth traipsing through the grassy pasture and leaned against the white wooden fence post to watch for a moment before placing both pinkies in her mouth, releasing a shrill whistle that brought Skye galloping up to the fence. Smiling as she unlatched the gate, Remi walked in and slipped her halter over the mare's perfectly built head, gripping the black and white striped lead role before leading the horse out, latching the gate again behind her. Horse and human walked back up to the barn together, Skye pacing with her cheek even with Remi, not dragging her forward, not lagging behind. Remi grinned at her amazing little mare and rubbed her star before grabbing a lemon drop out of her pocket - Skye's favorite treat. The buckskin lipped it up and nodded her head vigorously as she chewed on it while her owner walked them into the barn, tying Skye to the bars in the front of her stall before hurrying across the aisle to grab her grooming tote and returned, pulling out a curry comb to work off the dirt and mud before grabbing a stiff body brush to sweep away the loosened hair and grit. She followed up with a soft brush to really buff Skye's coat, then picked out her hooves and went to grab her tack for their ride.
~
Seth yelled in surprise as Remington's little mare - what was her name again? Star? No, Skye. That was it - ran right past him, close enough to nearly knock him over. Huffily dusting himself off, he marched back to where Annie was grazing and clucked at her. The pretty brindle pricked her ears and trotted over to her boy, the one who'd rescued her from the rodeo, and allowed him to walk her back to the barn. She was a bit excitable and jigged ahead of Seth once, but a decisive snap to the lead rope brought her back down, and she walked nicely the rest of the way. Seth tied her up in her stall like Remi had before giving Annie a brisk once-over with a stiff brush. Announcing her clean, Seth set out his gear and started tacking her up.

Does everyone know each other already?

Eleanor watched in amusement as Remi's horse almost knocked Seth over. She walked into the pasture and clucked at Pi, who turned at the sound and trotted over to her owner. Eleanor slipped her halter over her head and led her to the barn, slipping her a carrot on the way. Once they were in the barn and the mare was tied outside her stall, Eleanor groomed and tacked her up.

Luke walked up to the pasture fence and whistled to Gold, who came running, skidding to a stop at the fence. Luke smiled and put his halter on. He walked the stallion to the barn, tied him in front of his stall, and grabbed the brushes.

How about they talk a bit but not much.

Remi sang along to Twenty-One Pilot's Stressed Out as she threw Skye's pad over her well-muscled back, adding one of their saddles once it was in position. From there, Remi snapped the breast collar and wither strap into position before wrapping Skye's delicate black legs with colorful polos and silver bell boots. She finished tacking up with Skye's bridle, a headstall matching the breast collar and either strap, a soft leather roping rein, and a lovely floral snaffle. Once the champagne buckskin had accepted the bit, allowing Remi to pull the headpiece over her poll, the human walked the mare outside to the bigger arena, where she started warming up. Five laps to each side at a walk and trot, and three at the canter. Once they'd finished that much, Remi got down to business and worked on flexing and adjusting Skye's stride, both collecting and extending it. Skye was happy to obey, picking up each aide and performing flawlessly.
~
Seth had Annie in the smaller arena closer to the barn. The pretty little brindle was in a battered old ranch saddle with a simple, heavy-duty headstall and breast collar, a curb bit and a leather rein, all Seth's gear designed to be functional and tough so he didn't have to replace it all the time. He finished warming up and let himself out of the arena, walking towards the gravel. He was going to run Annie around the block to work on stamina - each side of a country 'block' was exactly a mile across, so going all the way around meant four miles at a gallop. Seth did it three times a week, twice if there was a rodeo that weekend. He did have a rodeo the coming weekend, so he was only doing it twice, today being the second time. Once on the road, Seth brought Annie up to a gallop in stages, starting with a walk, then trot, canter, then, finally, a sprint. Seth was low on Annie's back as she tore down the road to the first corner, hugging the shoulder as she bent around it and took off down the second side of the square.
