I'm starting Jackie (maybe Medallion) english and they only know neck reining. With Jackie, if you two hand her, it means get your head down. Tips on teaching direct reining? FYI, I have a trainer.

I assume that they were both started with direct reining before they were taught to neck rein. You should definitely work with your trainer, and discuss it with her before trying it.

Are you planning on switching them to english, or do you still want to do western as well?

I'll do both, but english the most.
