Hi! So, I'm going to a horse camp for a week this summer, and at the end there will be a horse show where we show what we learned. There will people, and I freak out when people watch me ride usually!!! I think that I'll be loping and cutting "cows" for the show, and maybe be doing a showmanship pattern. I'm sure that I can learn to do those just fine at horse camp, but in front of people??? Does anyone have any tips or confidence boosters? Thanks!

Has your show passed yet? Showmanship is so much fun (when they horse works well with you) If you have a horse who knows what it is doing, then here are some tips for you! Look natural! Big smile but not too cheesy. Make the pattern flow, not to jerky or too slow. Also, keep your elbows tight at your sides (when not preforming a maneuver) and shoulders square. When in the line up always point your toes towards your horse, and never be in the same quadrant with the judge, (hopefully they will teach you about the quadrants at camp) Always keep your eyes on the judge in line up, look natural, and have fun!!!!!! Relax, and be a good sport! Hope you do or did well!
