Her ears burned feeling foolish. Katie looked at her brother for encouragement but he was looking away. She gathered her reins tightly "we both knew" she mumbled.

Maria felt bad about putting Katie on the spot. However she wasn't about to let her secret be know, but this made her think. Is Katie able to speak to horses like her. Maria you didn't have to be so mean. She could be just like you, and embarrassing her isn't good. Grace scolded Maria. Maria rolled her eyes. She squeezed her calves making Grace go forward.

"Sure, we will raise the jump every time we complete it. If you fall off or your horse refuses, your out. Winner is the last one jumping." Maria said.

He grinned looking at her "Nice, this should be interesting. Katie, you make the course, since I'm no jumper," he grinned again. Katie rolled her eyes, "It's easier for me to remember when someone else recites it to me. Maria, you can play course designer for the day,"

Maria smiled. "Okay." She said a she asked Grace to trot forward. She circled in front of the 2'6 vertical then aske for a canter. She jumped it, next was the 2'9 oxer, as she cantered to the 2'3 vertical she did a flying lead change. Maria did a tight turn after that jump, and cantered over to the 2'6 Swedish oxer. She finished the small course with 2'9 spread.

Maria smiled. "Okay." She said a she asked Grace to trot forward. She circled in front of the 2'6 vertical then aske for a canter. After watching her go she turned and legged Sunny into a fast paced canter. "Woah, mare," she said under her breath and kept a hold of the mare's mouth. She circled before the 2'6" vertical then went over it, coming close but getting a nice distance. Sunny did her lead change before the corner. She didn't blink at the 2'9" oxer. Once again the mare got the lead change before the corner. They got the 2'3" vertical with a long distance and Katie fell up her neck. She cursed under her breath, she hadn't done that in a while. They did a role back to the Swedish oxer, taking the quarter line to the jump knowing the jumper turn would get Sunny's attention back. She cleared the jump and the spread easily.

Nick asked Star to pick the canter up, right from the walk. Star canter fast just what Nick expected and wanted. He approached the first jump, Star approached fast and soared over it. "Good girl." Nick said. He directed her 2'9 oxer, Star came in at a werid angle but made it over the jump. Nick did a flying lead change then the 2'3 jump. Star began to slow down at the 2'6 swedish oxer he know she was going to try and refuse and Maria's nod made him sure of it. He spurred Star giving her a little encouragement. Star was perfect over the jump, and the 2'9 spread which she bucked after, but at least she cleared.
