It was rare that the innocent Blair would ever enter a bar, but it somewhat made sense if you knew what she just experienced. Dressed in knee high brown leather boots, glossy eyes and her hair messy in a bun, Blair wandered the streets, walking towards the bar's sign. When she reached the door, one step brought her into the warmth and aroma of shots. The room was dark, except for the lights on the stage and the lights at the bar. Blair sat at a table, a few feet away from the stage, ordering a whiskey, hoping the cold, hollow feeling in her heart.
(she just suffered through a brutal break-up just to make this more interesting :D)

Josh took a sip of water as he stood behind the curtains. His eyes glazed over- it was the same old same old. Crowds of people who didn't give a damn about the people around them. Rich people, bums, the average jo; they all came here to drink away there troubles. All Josh did was sit in his own little world; he was just as bad as anyone of them. "Your up Bro." Caleb, his personal assistant for all needs called. His foot falls were heavy as he strode across the stage. Josh slipped his guitar strap around his shoulder and stepped up to the mic. It was nothing, no work, no pain, nothing. I'm here for you, I'm here for you, ain't nothing we can't do. His low voice carried out across the bar, no one stuck out of the crowd. He didn't even bother to look.

Blair, hearing the voice as the waitress put her order on the table, looked up to see an attractive young male on the stage. His voice was velvety, causing her lips to form in a smile, forgetting the man who had cheated on her with her best friend. She glanced around the room at the other desperate souls, not one of them having the same expression.

Josh closed his eyes and turned his head to the side. Something, and he didn't know what that something was, made him open his eyes. There in the corner sat a young woman. There was something that made her stick out. He could tell she wasn't like the other, it was a sense that washed over him. No, she was different. She was smiling, yet it wasn't happy, almost bittersweet.

Blair caught the stranger's gaze, and just held it. Every note, cord, and lyric slowly replaced the hollow emptiness.
As the song he had been singing ended, Blair put a few bucks on the table, paying for the drink. She made her way over to the makeshift stage, longing to talk to the stranger, to tell him how amazing his talent was, but as she was about to call for him, her phone vibrated in her pocket. She looked at the caller ID, not recognizing the number. "Hello?" she turned away from the guy, walking out the back door of the bar to the Alley. "I told you Damion. We're over. That doesn't matter! You crushed my heart!" She argued into the phone, on the verge of crying

Josh had been transfixed. His music; every word, every note, now meant something. Actually it now meant everything.
He watched the woman turn and walk away. Josh started to slowly walk after he. How had she touched his heart like that without even speaking a single word? Josh wanted more, he wanted to thank the young woman...for what he didn't know. As he reached the door of the ally he stopped. Old a single voice could be heard from outside, but it was full of pain. He stepped aside, but one word or name for that matter reached his ears. Damion....
