Okay I have a tip try closing your legs. It should help!

.:Emily:.

I'm feeling kind of dizzy
I need you here with me
I'm running out of breath
The clouds are spinning 'round me
There's nothing right about me
Darling there's a spinning in my head
So bust through the door
And tell me I don't have to wait no more

Lots and lots of no stirrups, as well as just more practice with keeping your legs still at the trot.

your legs may be flopping out of habit? i had a friends who did the "rise and squeese" too obviously and had a tought time breaking it.

i agree on the no stirrups. play around with it; different rhythems like "up-up-dow", "down-down-up", two-points... all that good stuff. pace yourself, though. i find it easier to start off with a goal and keep progressing as you ride.

i.e- im going to go half the arena. succeed. rest. repeat until wanting to do more.

good luck :)

Lots of leg strengthening exercises - Stirrupless, leg stretching, and double posting.

I agree with what others have said. Riding without stirrups does wonders! Just drop them when you're warming up, and make a habit of doing it for a few minutes, it helps in the long run.
