so. I've been thinking and researching, and I think that I should get Rileigh a new bit. He does not go poorly in his current bit, but he has moments of resistance when I pick up more contact/follow his mouth less than he likes, through halts and sometime even half-halts. I think that I could get a better, more consistent performance out of him in a different bit.
The thing is, I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. I have some ideas - I'd like to have an Aurigan, Cupreon, or maybe German Silver bit w/ multiple joints. Rileigh has an extremely soft, almost touchy, mouth, so I certainly would like something mild. He also has a fairly small mouth, so I'd like to avoid anything excessively thick(though I don't want anything very thin either ...16mm, maybe 18mm at the thickest); I think his current bit might be a little on the thick side for him.

this is what he has now - a Korsteel JP copper lozenge loose ring:

these are the bits I'm considering.
were it up to me, I would buy them all and try them individually on Rileigh, but since these are more costly bits, that's not really a practical option.
anyway. it doesn't have to be USDF legal or anything. please let me know your thoughts. I need to at least narrow it down to a few.

Try a fulmer. You'll probably have to order one from England though..

yes a fulmer seems like it would be good. i looked around, though, and i can't find them in anything but stainless steel, not even copper. i was pretty decided on having some kind of alloy. i've heard very good things about the aurigan and cupreon.

Tbh, I don't recall ever using a bit that wasn't stainless steel. Thats the bit the SRS uses, it's a good one xD. If I was nice and warm down in FL *glares at mother*, I'd lend ya one xD.

Out of all the ones you posted, I think the second one would be your best choice, as it's the simplest one.
