so my o/f trainer wants me to start showing this horse that this guy is paying her to get trained/shown, 1-2x/month, in hunters and eq o/f at like C shows and all.

and I thought about it.
and clearly I need a new outfit for this.
also, in 2011/12 when I start showing Riles in jumpers, this is what I'll most likely be wearing.

so I'm thinking ...light grey coat, greenish-beigey breeches, undecided on shirt/choker colour.
I know that the traditional colours are black/navy and beige. BUTNO. I don't roll that way. If my trainer is too embarassed by my off-beat colours, though, I do have a navy coat and a black plaid coat, and plenty of beige breeches. I'm nearly 100% sure she'll let me show in whatever, though. She let a girl show in brown half-chaps at more than one unrated show, so I don't think I have anything to worry about.

aaaaanyway.
I'd like your suggestions on what specifically I should buy. and also on what colour choker would look good w/ greenkhaki-ish and light grey.
I'm not totally rolling in dough over here, so budget for show coat is $250, and for breeches $200, shirt $80.
thaaaankyouall.

what I'm thinking right now(not 100% sure so please let me know if you have any opinions on these and/or other suggestions):
breeches - http://www.equestriancollections.com/product.asp?groupcode=RJ10021 in sage or http://www.doversaddlery.com/the-ts-trophy-hunter-low-rise-side-zip-breech/p/X1-35596/cn/2/ in green-biege
coat - http://www.equestriancollections.com/product.asp?groupcode=JP60033 in dove/pink (maybe w/ a pale pink shirt...?) or http://www.doversaddlery.com/r.j.-classics-platinum-show-coat/p/X1-40191/cn/34/ in grey/blue (maybe w/ pale blue shirt...idk)

thoughtsthoughtsthoughts.

Breeches- The TS Trophy Hunters are getting more popular around here because the euro seat is really flattering. I really like the green-beige colour too.

Coat- I personally, would go for the dark gray. Hunter trends go in and out and the light gray will only go for so long before it's 'out of style'.

It might just be that specific coat I dislike though. I don't like how the buttons contrast so much against the coat, and the large windowpanes look....odd?

yeeeah. i'm not the biggest fan in the world of either of the coats. the first one is a little lighter than what i really want and the second one is a little too dark and has blue accents. as my grandpa used to say - blue and green[ish] should never be seen.

did a little further looking, found some killer deals and a couple just out of my budget, though not too much in my size -
maaaybe ...these?

Ohhh show outfits are my specialty xD

I agree with Snaffle, light gray coats will probably only be "in" for so long. I would honestly stick to a conservative navy show coat-- they never go out of style and they look great with just about everything. Dark gray will also probably work, but I'm not forcing you to choose either, it's really up to you. I'm just stating my personal preference.

Either pairs of the breeches are very nice, anything in beige/khaki/tan/green-beige is totally acceptable in the show ring. You can't go wrong with Tailored Sportsman either.

For the show shirt I would suggest a simple white one, that way you can use it for just about any level and type of showing you want to do.

awh but that means that i wouldn't get to buy anything new.

cause i have 2 pairs of beige show breeches, 1 pair of khaki, a bazillion white shirts, a navy coat, and a black/dark grey plaid coat.
sokay i guess. between a new show outfit and my boots i'd be pretty much emptying my bank accnt. and i suppose it's always better not to do that.

if i'm not going green/grey/pink, then i'm at least going to buy and green coat and new shirt so i can be beige/green/mint(maybe a cream shirt would look good too)That was one of my show outfits when i was a little kid ...loved it ...plus Riles' colours are green/biege.
what do you all think of green coats? i know that they're not as "in" for hunters atm, but i still see them a lot in jumpers and eventing.

SEE I CAN'T EVEN MAKE UP MY MIND. asdfghjkl
moneysucksthough.
