My horse moves whenever I try to get on him!  In my opinon he is a tall horse making it even harder to get on!  Alot of the time he stands still until I get my left foot in the stirrup and then he moves.  One time last summer I even got stuck!  Thanks for the advice!

Make sure you're not jabbing him in the side with your heel/pulling on the reins so he moves backwards before doing anything.
But, if you're not, Cowboy used to do that. Instead of jumping back to the ground and backing him up, I'd normally use my -ninja- skills and swing into the saddle, and then make him back up and stand still. It worked for me, but Cowboy's... different, and normally requires some strange form of discplinary action xD. So let's see what other people say.

Tori, Frankie, and sometimes Jack.

Lovebug does this and I'm not particularly good about correcting it. I've gotten so used to it a lot of the time I forget to, but anyway. If he's walking out tell him whoa and pull on the reins till he stops and try again, once you have successfully gotten him to hold still, dismount and repeat this. If he's really really tall you may want to use a mounting block, or get a leg up.

I am really used to Lakota, my horse doing it and usually pay no attention but the 4h club in my town says that it is required so now I am frantic trying to teach him!

Back him up. Rocky does the same thing. When ever I step onto the mounting block (because i don't like to mount him from the ground) he takes subtle steps backwards or forwards. So whenever he does this I make him back up a lot. Then I lead him back and try again until he stays still. This has been going on for a little while but he is getting better.

Thanks Jump-the-jump for the fabulous banner!

my horse dose the same thing when you get on the reign on your side pull tighter then the other side so when he/she moves then they go in a circle and cant run off then they should get tired of going in a circle and would stop doing it :)
