Colby stood, leaning against the corral fence. Ghost was galloping around the corral, and his sides were soaked with sweat, but he showed no signs of slowing down. Colby sighed and bit his lip, able to see each one of Ghost's ribs, and his bony hips were clearly visible as well. He knew it would take time, but he seemed to be getting nowhere with the gelding.

Brooke gently stroked Breeze's nose through the rails of the fence, a smile on her face. The little mustang mare seemed to be settling in well, and had gotten used to Brooke. Breeze had been making huge improvements, and finally let Brooke pick out her hooves for the first time the previous day. In just a few weeks at the rescue center, Breeze was progressing fast. Brooke pulled a carrot from her pocket and the mare snatched it from her hand, gobbling it down greedily. Brooke leaned against the rails of the fence, still stroking Breeze's nose, and wondered to herself if she'd ever ride the mare.

Amy looked at Ruby trotting around in the corral, coat sweaty. "Here girl." Amy called to the mare. Ruby trotted over amd Amy stuck out her hand for Ruby to sniff. Ruby turned on her haunches and trotted over to the other side of the corral. Amy continued to hold out her hand, and Ruby warily came over to sniff it. Ruby snorted, and walked off a few yards. Amy held out a carrot and walked into the corral. The mare took the treat happily while Amy slipped a halter over her head. Ruby quickly ate the rest of the carrot, then realised the halter. She reared and Amy slipped out of the corral. Ruby galloped around, tossing her head. Finally, Ruby relaxed, yet Amy continued to wtach the mare.

Matt looked at his stallion prancing around the corral, and Matt called to him. Diamond bolted over, looking for carrots. "Here greedy." Matt said, holding out a carrot. Diamond snatched it from his hand, muching happily. Matt laughed, and the stallion bolted away from him, only to returned to his side. Matt held out his hand and Diamond sniffed it, looking for more carrots. Matt entered the corral, and rubbed the stallion around the poll. Diamond storted, but did not move. Matt slipped a halter over the stallion's head and quickly got out of the corral. Diamond tossed his head and began to trot around the corral. Then the stallion relaxed and looked at Matt as if asking, any more carrots?

Colby stayed outside the corral and kept his eyes glued to Ghost, watching the young gelding's every move. After what seemed like an eternity, he finally slowed, his sides heaving. By now, he was used to seeing Caleb leaning against the gate. Caleb stayed where he was, not wanting to startle Ghost and have him take off again. Finally, they had started to make progress.

Brooke slid between the rails of the fence, taking it slow so she didn't startle Breeze. She lifted her hands and slid a rope halter over Breeze's ears. "Good girl," she said, giving the little mare a pat on the neck. She gave a gentle tug on the lead lope, and lead the mare out of the pasture and into the barn, where she started grooming her.

Amy slipped into the corral and managed to grab the mare's halter. Ruby reared and Amy brought her back down. "Easy girl, easy," Amy whispered. Ruby relaxed and Amy clipped a lead rope to her halter. Amy let out the lead rope, knowing that Ruby would most likely freak. Ruby reared and bolted around the corral. "Easy, easy," Amy soothed. Ruby slowed to a canter, then to a trot. And finally to a walk. Amy walked toward the tired mare and led her to the gate of the corral. She opened it and led Ruby out, latching the gate behind her and Ruby. She led Ruby to the barn and put her in a stall with some feed and water.

Matt led Diamond out of the corral and into the barn. He put the stallion in a stall with food and water.

ooc:Mom has to get on coumpter, so that's why this is a shorter post!
