http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-3676&ids=843284708

For Jumpers? I love it, but I would need one for dressage to right? and what about SJ? thanks . . .

sub expiring, peace out yr.

I don't see why you couldn't do all three phases in it, at least to start. Obviously put a dark cover on it for SJ and Dressage, but I see no reason why you can't at least start out using it. This isn't hunters, you probably won't get laughed out of the ring.

ALL hat covers come off............ Get a cheap one, and put it on. The surface is rough and may wreck it in time, which is why you want a cheap one. *headdesk*

I don't understand the whole "put my hat cover on so that two inches of my hat are showing) fad. Pull the cover down over the hat. And if the cover that comes with it won't, buy a different one! :O

They don't always fit all the way, and I agree it looks rather stupid unless you have a black hat and a dark cover or something..

The CO Hampton/GR8/JR8 have absolutely no ventilation whatsoever (I'm big on ventilation). And have read about others, including myself, experiences with their head getting verrry hot inside the helmet.

If you're adamant on getting a Charles Owen, I'd suggest the AYR8, which is the only helmet range they have with ventilation.

The skull cap you posted is one of those, but they also have one that resemble the GR8 and one that resembles the Hampton. Yes, ventilation on a velvet helmet, it's very ugly looking.

Just something to think about before you purchase one.

Edit: I'm not a fan of IRH, but I know others on here are. Here's IRH's version of the original AYR8 that could work for you. (It irks me that they can't come up with their own styles.)
http://www.doversaddlery.com/irhandreg%3B-air-10-riding-helmet/p/X1-36287/cn/40/

And I would suggest not getting the IRH skunk helmets (the fake GPA's). I've noticed that they sit very high on a lot of peoples head's and gives you the 'alien head' look.

You say that now, but when you have the sun pounding down on you or you're riding in a heat wave, you'll probably regret it...

My head would be sweating in my CO Hampton in -15 degrees (5 degrees Fahrenheit) . I was absolutely dying in the summer.

In that case then, if your budget allows for it, you probably like the GR8 better than the JR8.

It has memory foam in it and I don't think the JR8 does.

If you don't mind the gray on black one, it's usually on sale cheaper if you type in 'GR8 helmet' on froogle.com.

For example, at VTO saddlery it's on sale for $268
