Recently got two new mini rescues, a 9 year old skittish mare, previously trained but still reluctant, and a demon of a year old stallion who's being gelded come spring. Need ideas on how to do some basic halter training.

-bye.

1. you should get her used to being touched on her face, and petted

2. try to get her trust

3.hold up the halter to her nose an dlet her sniff it, then open it so she can stick her nose through it, put a treat at the other end of the hole, reward her for attempting to put her nose through the hole,

4. take it very slowly. reward easily and try not to make her uncomfortable
