Carry a lunge whip in your left hand and when she refuses to trot, swing it back toward her. It takes a little bit of coordination lmao since the lunge whip is so long x]

yea my mare used to do that. what did was i would carry like a dressage whip or anything like that thats long and would just tap her with it when i would feel her slow down. within a few days she would trot at my side without a whip.
hope this helps ! good luck !

Its the one thing I lack. I will try it though. Thanks. Now that I have a trainer we should be able to really work trough some of our little problems like this.

It could very well be your fault.
If you're standing in front of her just a bit and not completely to the side, she will most likely not trot. Also, a very common mistake I see is looking back and clucking, trying to jog beside them. Don't look back at her, confidently go to the side, cluck, and jog on your own.

Yup, that was my first thought too. Step by her shoulder, pick up a walk, and then cluck and you start to jog on your own.

I still do that but she refuses. I will remember to make shure I dont drift ahead. Thanks!
