Right, I'm in the process of deciding weather I want to buy a bareback pad, and which one I want. I found these two, and I'd like some opinions on them...
Here's the first one. I personally like this one the most, but it's a bit more expensive than the next one. ^^;
Next up, there's this one. It looks alright, but I don't really like the girth... should I steer clear of this one completely?
Any input is greatly appreciated; I'm buying (one of) these so I can feel comfortable riding my old mare Delilah again. <3
*I don't like to use heavy western saddles on her old back anymore, so yeah. xD
Thanks! =]

The second one has stirrups, if you want them, then go for it, but if not and you have the money i'd suggest the first one. I'm not very experienced in bareback pads though, so don't entirely trust me! :)
LBP, LilPony, shorten it however you like.

| The Kensington pad looks nice. The only thing I would worry about on this one would be slippage. The pad with stirrups I would not go for. The girth looks weird, and bareback stirrups are dangerous. 1. If you get them caught on a fence etc. there is no saddle tree to help the pad keep it's shape, and your leg could get twisted. 2. For most people in general (I understand about your horse) if you feel like you need to be riding in stirrups then just stick to a saddle. I personally like my bareback pad ( http://store.reinsman.com/products/bareback ) It has a gripping underside, and mine never slips, plus the microsuede offers "stickiness" for those that do not have the best balance I hope this helps you!

i personally would go for the first one but if you do feel that you need stirrups then i would just stick to a saddle until you have good balance. but if that isnt the case then get the first one it seems to be of better quality.

Thanks for the input everyone! =]
And yeah, the second one... the only reason I was considering it was because it wasn't as expensive as the Kensington. (I'm perfectly fine without stirrups. ^^)
And, actually, I like the bareback pad AbbyandRocket suggested more than the ones I found, lol! So I think I'll be getting that one instead. ;)

Noooo no no, stirrups on bareback pads are so dangerous. Besides, what would be the point? Go for the first one.

I would go with the first one if you have the monny. I have never ridden will a barback pad but stirrups I think would be dangerous and would probably couse the pad to slip if you sit unevenly.

I like the first one cause its more of a decent material and cool looking. On the second one it's just odd looking. On bareback pads that I hardly ever see stirrups and there usually arent any. So I hope this helped!

i say the first one, but i also suggest that you can get a cheaper one at a tack/consignment shop. also try ebay.
the second one with the stirrups i personally find dangerous because it can slip to the side and you can end up on the horses stomach with feet still in stirrups (caught up).

Definitely no to the stirrups. I learned that the hard way. I leaned over to get my water and the pad just started

I have never really been a fan of bareback pads. To me it defeats the whole purpose of bareback. But that is just me. If you want to get one definitely go with no stirrups like everone else said. =]

| all I can say is Do Not get a bareback pad with stirrups, I was going to , but everyone said no because your feet can get stuck in the stirrups, and because the pad is fabric it can not suport you trying to balance your weight on the stirrups, so you will slide off the side. Hope this helps! ~Aubrey~keep smiling :)
