| first off... ifyour horse can be hazerdous(?) to other horses around him/her...jumping around, bucking, kicking, if its possible other horses like your pony should be seperated from him/her. make sure there is nothing in the pasture/stall that can hurt it. he's/she's better off ina pasture. let him or her just run it off if possible. if its fireworks there is not an easy way to de-spook your horse. offer him/her grain or hay to keep it focoused on that not the fire works this may sound lame but...SAFETY FIRST!!!

If you really think it's going to be a huge issue, have your veterinarian come out and sedate your horse. If not, just remove everything from the horse's stall except for a water bucket and some hay. (This includes the grain bucket or tub, if it isn't firmly attatched to the stall wall.) Put the pony in the stall next door if it is a barn where the horses can see each other through the stall wall, or accross from the horse if it is a barn where the stall walls are solid all the way up.

Proud to wear my helmet. Proud Californian. Proud horse-lover. Thanks Energizerpony!

If you can't get your hands on some ace, you can always try the natural products (like Rescue Remedy). Fireworks are a real pain.

Id just try and get her sedated, honestly. There isnt really a lot of desensitizing you can do for fireworks.

For heaven's sake dont turn him out when he's in that state of mind! He could bust through a fence and seriously injure himself. Keep him in his stall beside many calm horses, make sure he can see them.

Yay! New Banner! Thanks Take Me home! I shall switch on and off with them.
