I cannot find a saddle that fits my new barrel horse. I have tried all the saddles in our  barn, i've taken him to several tack shops and tried many saddles on him and none fit!!! The only saddle that fits him is my dads Martin reining saddle and I cannot barrel race in that saddle. Driftin (the new horse) is going to be my replacement for Witch when I retire her in the next couple years. He's still a bit green on the pattern but he shows a ton of potential to make a great rodeo horse. I have to have a saddle that fits him correctly, I'm not going to risk riding him with a saddle that doesn't fit him and using pads to try and correct it. So this weekend i'm taking him to another tack shop that sells Martin saddles to see if any of those fit. If not this week a guy that makes custom saddles is going to come out and do a wither tracing to have something custom made which is the way i'm probably going to have to go. He's not going to make it because he specializes in Ranch saddles, he's just helping me out.

I'm crossing my fingers that another Martin saddle will fit him because I  absolutely love those saddles. The Iron Horse Barrel saddle is my favorite so hopefully they have some of those in stock at this tack shop so we can try it out.

If it doesn't work out then i'm going to contact Caldwell saddles ^ to see what they can do. The thing with them though is that the wait list is huge! It takes almost a year to get your saddle.

So if you've had a horse thats hard to fit for a saddle what brand finally worked for you? Or what brand have you found that fits a variety of horses?

Billy Cooks (Sulpher OK) fit a wide varitety of horses. I love mine. My friend has a wider QH and it fits her and my average withered paint. The reviews I've heard on them say the same thing..I dunno...maybe you've tried one already though?

Billy Cook's are nice when it comes to finding a variety to fit horses.
Tex Tan are ok when it comes to that. Most all havethe QH bars on them, so it can be a bit harder for a narrower or not so broad horse.

I'm having saddle fit issues too.

I would see if you can get a martin saddle with the same tree as you dad's saddle. Cactus saddlery makes a nice saddle too. What "shape" of a back dose your horse have? Horses back's change every 5 or so years. Especially in their first 5 years.

I can decide what kinda of saddle I want. It's between Martin and Lamb.

So what kind of body frame are we talkin about?

We love the Courts Sharon Camarillos barrel saddles and the Ammerman saddles. We have a friend whose horse doesn't fit with almost any saddle, and the Sharon fits him nicely. We have one for sale, BTW.

Its all blinged out and SUPER nice and pretty much completely new, but the stirrups have been turned already. Black seat, full QH bars. This the identical one to the one that is on the horse who doesn't fit in any saddles.

I'm working on that but it seems as if nobody with the company can give me a straight answer about whether or not they'll do it. We've ordered 3 new martin saddles in the past from them and had no problem. I've called them several times and they'll put me on hold or have me talk to bunch of different people, so i'm getting no where with them.

Can I be your shake tramp?
I'll give you sour candy.
I'll stay beside you.
We can live on Acadia street.
I cross my heart and hope to die.
Because you know I'll be good to you.
Just say anything,lover dearest.
Because I swear I won't Push,
