I am in need of some field boots. However, I have had an extremely difficult time finding any that would fit me. I wear a size 6-6 1/2 in tennis shoes, and i have a pair of paddock boots by tuffrider in 6 1/2. from the floor to how tall the boots should be is 17 inches, and my calf is only 11 inches at the widest point. This is why I'm having an incredibly hard time finding anything that would fit me. Do you know any boots that might fit?

I've thought about that, but I wouldn't buy anything smaller than a 6 1/2, because they are so expensive and they need to last me a while, and kids only go up to 5.

What I meant was, if you are 13 or something, you'll buy the boots, show like three times and you will have outgrown them. After outgrowing like, pair three my mum made me wait until my feet didn't grow any for 2 years xD. There are some half chaps that look exactly like tall boots that you could get and then if your feet grow you just need new paddock boots. Actually, I showed in paddocks and halfchaps for years and no one even noticed o.O I found they were more comfortable in the insane heat we have here in the summer.

ok. that's probably a good idea, because the doctors said I have like 70% of my growing left to do....but that also means I probably won't be done growing till I'm like 18 xDDDD. So I'm thinking maybe I can get a pair that's a little big so they fit me for at least a year or more, and then I can sell them and get a new pair (my tack shop will sell stuff for you).

Buy Ariats off the shelf and get them customized to fit your leg by a GOOD shoe shop. That's what I had to do, since I'm imbetween calf sizes. (full is too small, and I can stick my hand down the larges)

I reccomend Ariats because they are actually worth customizing, the leather's really nice, and they look good. They take a long time to break in, however. Start riding in them months before your first show.

Half chaps are really worth it. They will last a lot longer than tall boots. I've worn my pair over a range of 4 1/2 sizes when I outgrew the boot I could just get another pair to put with my half chaps.

I highly recommend you get Ovation tall boots in children's size. Their children's sizes go up to 7 so it would be perfect for you. And they are fairly inexpensive, around $120. Here's the link: http://www.doversaddlery.com/childrens-ovation-finalist-field-boot/p/X1-3832/cn/2656/.

I doubt you'll find a pair of tall boots that will fit perfectly, and even if the measurements don't match up perfectly, they will still fit. I bought ariats because after seriously 7 or 8 months of looking, they were the only ones that would fit, and even they could be a bit taller, which is insane, because they are already 20 inches tall. I would go with either saxons, or the ones that go up to size 7. But if you can get away with half chaps, do it, cause you'll save yourself a lot of money. last year, I bought saxons, and I'm sure glad I did, cause I got a 8 1/2, and i now need a 9 - 9 1/2, and About 3 inches taller. I'm 15, so I could'nt get away with half chaps, plus those would cost me an arm and a leg too. So if they don't fit Exactly, at the moment, since these are not the boots you will end up with for the next 6 years like me, don't spend a bunch of money, and honestly, it's not a bad idea to have a little extra room in the calf. Mine fit perfectly, and if my calves did grow, they CAN strech them, but for ow, a cheep pair of boots is your best bet, untill you stop growing

Mine (: Just so you know not to take it. Although why you would want to is beyond me...

I consider ariats to be of the quality needed for a once a week lesson kid. When put into every day use, they don't last horribly long. I think I got my last ones in march, and they already look like I've beaten the hell out of them with a lead pipe and a sand blaster. I spend, on average, about 3 hours in the barn per day. Mucking stalls, throwing hay down and graining horses hardly consists of hard enough work to nearly ruin a pair of boots in just a few months.
