Ok so Boomer has access to all the salt, water, food, vitamins, you name it! But he has a little issue... he is a serial licker! The other day he was licking the dry ground out in his pasture, he licks his stall, he licks me, and he was sitting there licking my mom's mare's back! Like i said, i dont think he has a deficiency. He is very mouthy.. so is it just because he is exploring things? And does anyone have a horse like Boom that does this?

Yay! New Banner! Thanks Take Me home! I shall switch on and off with them.

It's fine if your horse just likes to lick everything, it's even OK if he occasionaly bites things to find out what they are, what they taste like, etc. However, certain things are off limits. Be sure that you yell "No!" and wave your arms around and jerk the lead if he bites tack or people. Some horses develope a taste for leather and it can be a problem.
