Well, I've never trained all the way, but I've worked with greenies. When I got Gent he could barely w/t and I've "trained" him up from that, but always under the advice and supervision of my trainer.

I got boom when he was just broke.. nothing else special. From there i trained him to ride bridless, jump, run speed, side pass and other stuff w/ no halter on the ground.

Yay! New Banner! Thanks Take Me home! I shall switch on and off with them.

Shaymus was already fully trained when a bought him, and Dallas is still in training, I've done almost all of his training myself, with instruction on what to do with him from a trainer.

My first pony was broke to ride and she knew quite a few things, but she was very naughty and I sort of had to re-train her. My first horse came to me with only 5 rides on her. We sent her to a trainer who really sucked and didn't teach her anything. So I just trained her myself. My new horse is fully trained, but still needs some work.

Thanks ALcowgurl26 for the awsome banner!

My horse is fully trained, in fact, he teaches me more than I teach him. The only thing he needs more training in is on the trails.

Cindy is full trained, we just got to work on the canter a little bit. I'm just going to ask an experianced rider to get on her and canter her till she is good enough so i can canter her easily.

The horses I've ridden have been pretty much fully trained. The only stuff I ever do is just put the miles on them, or polish them up for show, get them in shape, etc.

Proud to wear my helmet. Proud Californian. Proud horse-lover. Thanks Energizerpony!

i bought Buck when he was three, he's five now(omg, he's growing up sooo fast *sniffsniff*tear*:)/( ) i've been training him. but i've worked with green horses, like this one horse Lady, she wasn't really green, she was abused by her previous owners,so when the stable i was at bought her, her training had to be started all over from the beginning. i left that barn a few months later tho and moved to a new one, so someone else is working with her now. but when training her, that was the first time i'd ever been actually bucked off a horse.

| Hershey came to me as an earshy, terrified-of-humans-and-just-about-everything-else 3 year old Shetland. Now he's five and we've come so far. Our first ride is either Friday or Saturday! :D Edit: I forgot to mention Hershey is completly self trained by me without any trainer instruction whatsoever. We don't need one. xD

Thanks babidollroxs for the banner :D

I'm pretty sure everyone needs an instructor if they ever plan on improving a lot. Even if it is only once in a while.

I'm pretty sure everyone needs an instructor if they ever plan on improving a lot. Even if it is only once in a while. HAH. I totally disagree with that. I've never worked with an instructor and I'm one of the best riders in my county and I'm NOT just saying that. I can prove it. Last year I bought elle from being out to pasture for 5 years and took her to state and PLACED top ten the same year. Kisses, I bought 3 years ago and all she knew how to do was walk, trot, stop and back. I trained her to be a successful WP and halter horse. She can lope off her HQ, sidepass, turn on her haunches and forehand, ride bareback and bridleless and is pretty bombproofed. She's really turned over a new leave this year. Again, I've never worked with a trainerr on either horse and I don't plan to. I have improved ALOT since I started competing. DONT say everyone needs a trainer to improve alot. That's not true.

Yuppers. And i've seen pics of both of the girls and they looked great. I have trainers on and off, but i just don't click with any of them. My last one got me and Jack to where we are today, and then i stopped because i knew i could handle it myself from then on out. If i was doing something wrong or if i needed a few lessons again, i would go and get some help or somebody would straight up tell me, but it hasn't happened, and i've been doing quite well at Paint shows this summer, and won an EQ class at an open show. It's not mandatory to have a trainer, and sure it helps a lot of people if they do have one, but you also need to learn from your own mistakes sometimes and that sometimes needs to happen on your own.
