Yo.

Hello there m'dears ;3
I know I know, I really wasn't gone all that long, but eh I decided to come back for now.
So an update for those of you that know me/know what happened:
I'm back riding again! I had my first lesson in 4 months yesterday, and it went absolutely amazing. Things have really started to turn around in life some what. So now my parents say I'm back to weekly lessons, and possibly twice a week (at least just until my schooling show in April, because they really want me to be able to compete in it since it will be my only show this year) so we'll see if that happens but yeah. Wizard is doing great, and to my surprise I think he actually missed me while I was gone? I love that horse <3
My leg has gone to absolute total crap though D': I used to have such a steady leg hah. But oh well.
So yeah. A lot has happened in 2 months, I don't know how but a lot of things about life in general have changed drastically for the better :)

And for those of you that don't know me because it looks like a lot of new members have joined since I left...
I'm Kelsie, I ride a Thoroughbred gelding named Wizard, and we do H/J. I also dance and love music. And I had 4 months off of riding because my family couldn't afford lessons, but now I'm back to it again :)

Heyy :D I've been a subscriber to YR for a few months but I've been too lazy to actually get an account. :3

So, yes, here's my riding info...

~Beginner/Intermediate level, learning to canter this year ^.^
~This is my 1st year taking an actual year-round lesson - last year I just took a learn-to-ride course that was about 4 months long... It was really helpful as I got the basics of walking and trotting down! :D This year I'm taking an actual Equine Canada certified course, so I will be being tested in April. :)
~I take once-a-week lessons.
~I ride two lesson horses: an Appaloosa gelding named Coca-Cola (Coke for short) and an Arabian gelding (he's a pony!) named Spud. I'm learning to canter on Spud because Coke's canter is REALLY fast :O

ITS MY PASSION AND MY LIFE! but i don't own my own horse which sucks because i've been riding since i was 5yrsold. unfortunately horses are SO expensive. Ok, enough of that. I just had to do that because everyone here where I live is so English and proper.

I am HaflingerLove, and I love Haflingers. I have been subscribed to YR for, geesh, probably over a year. I just never got around to making an account until now. But, here I am.

I have 2 Haflinger mares, both purebred and registered! Troya is actually from Austria!
(no bragging intended)

Troya is 24 and acts like 4, and Tiara is 12 and acts like 12. We are going to be breeding Tiara in about May! Yay!

I am probably something like an intermediate rider. I can W/T/C and jump. I trail ride a ton because we don't have a ring, but that is changing as soon as this mud goes away. I ride English, but am saving up for a western saddle for trail riding and CTRs.

I live on a farm and have a bunch of animals like pigs, chickens, sheep, and a few cows. And of course horses!

I do Competitive Trail Riding (CTR) and am starting XC.

I think that's it! I would love to meet other YRs!

Tips for New Members

PRB'S TIPS FOR NEWBIES!

Here are some tips if you're new on these boards. Follow them, and you're sure to fit right in.

PART ONE: POSTING TIPS

1. Please don't type "lyk dis kk!!!!" because it really does get annoying. If you can't spell, you're obviously too young to use a computer.

2. Five exclamation points are not neccasary on the end of every sentance. Please remember that.

3. DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME! <- It sounds like your yelling and distracts us from your post.

4. Keep the text abbreviations (ex. lol, omg) on the down low. It's annoying when your post looks like this: "FYI OMG your horse is lol lol lol lol funnayyyyyyyyyy looking! OMG WTH is on his head? ROFL ROFL LMAO!!!"

5. Don't use the non-text smileys. ( ex. ) Nobody likes them. XD

6. Don't swear so much, as there are younger members on here who may be offended.

7. Don't fight. Just don't.

PART TWO: THE BOARDS AND STUFF

1. Pease post all topics on the appropriate boards. A topic called "How do I fit a Saddle?" does not belong in "Critique Me, Please."

2. Don't bring up old topics, please. They're old news.

PART THREE: CRITIQUE ME, PLEASE!

1. You post it, you ask for it. Don't flip out on members who give you a completly polite critique.

2. " I hate it, you are a terrible rider, and your horse is a fat cow" isn't a critique. Instead, kindly let the member know what they could improve on and how they could do it.

3. Only post banner ctiques once in a while. They clog up the horsey part.

PART FOUR: BANNERS, SIGGIES, AND AVVIES

1. Please keep your signature short. Long ones often slow down computers and keep members from enjoying YR.

2. Don't post siggy shops a ton. They clog the boards. Instead, post in the latest siggy mall. Don't see one? Make one yourself.

3. Don't be offended if you use mybannermaker.com and picnik and blingee and glittershack and nobody wants your banners. They aren't very good, honestly. If you are that interested in making banners, you should invest in a program such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro, etc.

4. You should use only ONE banner per signature. I'm sure the banner makers wouldn't mind very much if you didn't use their's right away.

PART FIVE: GENERAL

1. Don't lie. We are magical and can tell your lying, and will get mad at you.

2. Don't post pictures, banners, etc that aren't yours and claim them as your own.

3. Be nice. Treat othersd the way you'd like to be treated.

And that concludes the tips!

Hey, I'm Patience and I'm new to YR! I ride hunter/jumper and in the past have taken a few Saddleseat lessons and western lessons. Right now I ride my friend's horses and her mom does polo sometimes so I've done polo too. I don't really take official lessons, but my friend's mom just gives us pointers. I really miss taking lessons, but around here, horse stuff is super expensive. Which is also the reason why I don't currently have a horse! So, if you have any tips for being around YR or anything, just let me know!

I have one question though. How do I make a signature or a banner? Everyone's are really cool!

New Hunter/Jumper Rider

Hi to anyone who is reading this :) First off I'm new and thank you for even bothering to read this :) I am not only new to this website but I am new to horseback riding..well sorta. I started last summer and have been getting pretty good. I can walk/trot/canter in two point and I am working on jumping as well. I would like to get some advice though. I have a bad habit of leaning to far forward when my horse jumps. I sometimes over prepare myself and end up getting bumped out of the saddle or losing my reins...both happened to me last week lol. Anyway any advice or tips will be much appreciated and to anyone else who is a hunter/jumper please read this!! I'd love to talk to more riders because none of my friends even like horses and I sometimes feel alone with my passion. But this isn't a sad story so please reply :)

hello! probably about a handful of you even remember me because I've been gone so long, but it's Jennie! I had problems with my account and eventually just gave up trying to get it back, but I decided to get a new subscription to talk to all of you again. I was going to get a whole new account, but was able to get my old account back thanks to some great mod work :D
I've pretty much stopped riding since I left because my parents stopped paying for my lessons and I couldn't afford to pay for them myself. I'm trying desperately to get back into it though, so hopefully I'll have some stuff to update you guys on fairly regularly? I dunno, other than that hello! I don't bite. Say hi. The usual.
I might be getting the name changed on this account soon so don't get too used to the name. If it works out, I shall be LivingLouder.

My names Emma and I live in Florida. I own a Chestnut Swedish Warm blood gelding named River and we do Hunters, Jumpers and some Dressage. We eventually want to get into Eventing. I am a tack nut and I buy old saddles, clean them up and re-sell them to make some money so I can buy more tack haha. Hey Guys! Some of you may remember me, though I haven't seen many names I recognize yet (Welcome to Young Rider by the way to all others who are "new"!).. I was on here a lot about two years ago, and less and less up to about a year ago. Then my life just got insane so I only got on very occasionally, and then my subscription expired so, well yaaa.. XD

So you may or may not remember me, but in any case, Hi there! I'm LittleBrownPony, I don't own any horses (Currently! I very much plan to some day. ;) but I take riding lessons at a nearby stable.. I mostly ride western, though I have ridden english a little bit. I enjoy both types of riding. ;)
I love to draw horses, read about horses, hang out with horses, ride horses, look at horses, smell horses....... Yeeaaaaahh you get the idea. I love horses..!

Anyways, i'll be around and i'm excited to be back!

Hi! You can call me Mollystorm. I have been taking lessons for 3 years now. I don't own my own horse, but I really want to! I'd prefer a donkey or pony though. XP I volunteer with therapeutic riding and Special Olympics. I'm also on a drill team with my friends.

I'm a dog agility addict. I go to agility classes weekly with my German Shepherd mix. I also have a Berner x Golden mix, and I foster Beagles.

Here is a list of all of the animals we have on our farm so far. 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 bunny, 2 rats, 3 goats, 3 ducks, and a bunch of chickens and turkeys! It is pretty crazy here.

I'll probably be asking TONS of questions about riding, and owning a pony. I can't wait to meet everyone. :)

Yeah, I'm not new (joined a year ago), but I haven't been on for ages. So I decided to come back for some reason.

Hey Young Rider! So I subbed to the mag and used the website last year, then my mom canceled my subscription and now I got it back again! I tried logging into my old account but I couldn't...I'm starting to think maybe Young Rider deletes them after you stop subbing?
