I've looked at Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, Appaloosa, and many others. But which breed is the best for a newbie to owning a horse?

Miniture Horses

i Have a Miniture Horse named Blade, Im 13 and he is 3 now

He jumps, will start showing, and driving a cart. I got him a bridle for his birthday

May 1 and my birthday is on the 2nd of May, He is still a stallion and planing on keeping him that way, also planning in using him as stud. His coat is a Dark Palimino and 4 white socks and a snip on his nose, he is regitered in the Miniture Horse Assoctication.

I will have a pic up soon of him, he has a sweet personality, cute ears and small eyes, he has jumped at least 5 foot high. He is very skilled in Jumping and Speed. I have another horse but she is a Quarter Horse/Appaloosa mare, when i ride her Blade is always right behind us and right now i and bit training Blade.

Welsh Ponies and Cobs

So, I have been looking at horses for sale(not like I'm getting a horse any time soon). I was looking alot at Welsh Ponies and Cobs a lot. The Welsh Pony I really like is a Welsh/Thoughbred (hope I spelt that right) cross. What do you think of that mix? I tried looking at the Welsh Pony and Cob Asscosiation, but I am dumb and can't navigate the website. So, if you have any knowledge on Welsh ponies or Cobs, could you please share it with me? Thanks!!! Oh and I ride hunters so I was wondering if they are good horses for the Hunters?

i have had many people as in trainers tell me there a breed, but many books say there a color...

Since we've had a billion most favorite breed topics, how about a least favorite breed? You can have a couple. I know not a lot of people hate one breed, but you've got to have a breed that you dislike for a reason or no reason at all. :))

I particularly don't prefer Arabians, no real reason, they just bug me sometimes. They seem like a cocky breed, for some reason. I've ridden a few and I liked them, it's not like I dislike the horses themselves, I just don't really prefer their breed. :)

Secret Spot on Star

While I was grooming Star, I spotted a small white spot on her armpit! So I just found out that she is actually a Paint Horse and not a Quarter Horse!! But does the spot have to be a certain size? Maybe its just that she is part Paint and part Quarter?

Exception to the Rule

Basically, person says something about a breed (doesn't have to be a stereotype, but not anything obvious like "Appaloosas are spotted!") and the person below says how their horse or a horse they know disproves that/"is an exception to the rule".

P.S. Please try to stick to relatively common breeds that most people have probably come into contact with at some point in their life.

Saddlebreds can't do anything besides Saddleseat.

Quater Horses OR Throughbreds

I LOVE BOTH!!!! But for me and what i do, which is eventing Thoroughbreds have just always had a soft spot in my heart and i think that they are a bit more suited for everything i mean they can do western and english they can do dressage and jumping and eventing they can also be just a trail horse and they can be race horses!!! I mean what cant they do??? So vote in the poll for your favorite and post why the breed that you chose you think is better!!!!!!!!!!

I don't really like Appys! What do you guys think of them? Hi!

Since my favorite breed is arabians, I decided to make a chat forum about them. We can talk about Arabs and say what we love about them. First question: Why do you love Arabians?

I will answer first:

I love them because they are versatile, beautiful, nice, not too tall (cause I am small and it is easy fo rme to mount my horse), hard working, and graceful!

I actually have two Arabs right now, my mom's horse and mine. My horse Sahara is a dark bay with black polka dots and a black and brown mane and tail. She is super sweet, and is a people horse. We call her the babysitter because she is very gentle and we trust her with little girls. My mom gives riding lessons on her. Here is a pic of Sahara:

Hi! Um... if i make any mistakes on this i just want to let you know i'm new, i really have no idea what i'm doing But I just want to brag about TWH and especialy my tennesse walking horse Diamond he can jump three feet!(although he's to young to jump right now) Does anybody else have a TWH? If so what do you do with it? Diamonds not even gelded but he's the perfect horse! I trail ride with him, and i'm training him for barrel racing and jumping once he's old enough. So, come here if you love TWH and want to talk about them.

P.S i know this was kind of a pointless post, but I just love TWH!
