Lesson on Buster yesterday

Hey guys. I had a lesson on Buster yesterday. We just did mostly some flat work, and then we did some jumping at the end. But Jennie fails at taking jumping pictures, so I only have flat pictures, becuase you can barely see me in any of the jumping ones. xD

I'm saving myself the embarrassment by only putting up the best like, 5 pictures, xD.

For a full lease over the winter

Info: Cinnamon was trained both english and western, she was used as a english lesson pony at the YMCA for a year, she was also used for pony rides at a local barn. She walks, trots, and canters when cued. Stops and backs up great! She can half pass, side pass, and does flying lead changes. She neck reins and moves off your leg. She can be rode by herself or with a group, does great either way. Does great on trails, never bolts or spooks.(She chooses to face things instead of running away ;]) She collects great at the walk and canter but needs work at the trot. I've jumped her up to 2'6 and have done a 2' cross country course with her. She gets a bit excited out cross country but after you give her a couple half halts she settles down. I have jumped/rode her through the sprinkler, rode her over bridges, logs/branches, through water and ditches and down the road. She loads, baths, ties, and stands for the vet/farrier great! She prefers to be stalled instead of pastured but she can be turned out in a group or by herself does good both ways, she's curently turned out with 4 other horses during the day and stalled at night. I normally let her hair grow out during the winter but during the colder months of winter she sometimes does need a blanket on to help keep her warm. She's been shown in halter and showmanship but I've never done a riding class with her. She does great at shows and doesn't mind all the excitement. She needs a experienced rider to get the best out of her, and she can be a bit unpredictable/moody at times so you always have to be ready incase she tries to bite/kick. She's up to date on all shots, farrier, and wormer. She does need a hoof supplement to keep her feet from cracking in the summer, and she normally gets her feet done every 6 weeks in the summer and every 8 weeks in the winter.

So I was wondering If you could critique Fargo and maybe think of a show name for him. The only one I've thought of is 'Far Goes The Sun'. Thanks in advance!! Oh yeah, If you're wondering, My family was looking at him and a couple of other horses. He's my favorite by far, I hope my parents hope me get him.

Fargo is a 17.1H 9 year old thoroughbred gelding and was never raced! He would make a great dressage horse for any level rider he is very calm and not spooky. He has been free jumped 4 feet and i jumped him over about 2 foot jumps, but hes still needs a little work with his jumping and would need to have an intermediate or an advanced rider for jumping. I have taken him to many shows and he was a great gentleman, and we did very well! He loves kids and loves to be fussed over, he need someone that would have the time to work with him, unlike me because i am still in school and playing alot of sports so i just dont have the time for him right now that he needs and deserves! I would love to keep him but it just is'nt wokeing out with school and sports, and he is just sitting around, and i dont want that because he loves to be worked and loves his job! He is great for Vet and farrier and is UTD on everything! He clips,bathes,ties, trailers, ect. We are asking 5,500! Fargo is Trained in Dressage, Competed in Hunters, Competed in Jumpers, and is a prospect Lesson Horse.

Okay, so on the 28th I had a small schooling show with cinder. We got two 1st, two 2nds, a 3rd, and a 5th. I was proud of cinder binder he hadn't been to a show all summer so yeppy! He wasn't the best in the two hunter hacks, but in the jumping classes he did much better. Sorry the pictures arn't the best (my mom took them so...that explains it..) anyway I will add the videos of my classes as soon as I can. Until then, just critque what you can!

Here's some pics. In case anyone was wondering, we got 1st in W/T C and D (but we were the only ones in it, so obviously XD) and 1st in the W/T EQ. I was up against 8 year olds on their slow ponies who decide to take a piss right in the middle of the class. But anyways, here's the pics. Go easy on Jitterbug, it was her 2nd show with me. And be harsh on me, but try not to rip me to shreads XD And before you say anything about her sticking out her nose like a snotty pony, I allready know that. And when she gets round, she compleately changes her way of going.

She's a bit behind the vertical, but she looks good, conisdering, it's Jitterbug. And I have no idea where I'm looking. I think I had a facination with the shadows.

I've been looking at Ruby, I'm curious to see how much you think she's worth and if you want to know her real price, You can PM me or after I get a few different answers I'll post her real price. Also if it is possible, please critique her.

Ruby is a big beautiful broke mare. She's a good mover with a big stride. Ruby has been shown and evented. Always in the ribbons this flashy mare is a real winner. She has been hunter paced and fun to ride. She will jump a 3'3" course with ease. She has good barn manners and is a pleasure to be around.

She's a 16.1hh Bay Thoroughbred. She was born in 2001. She's pretty bomproof too. She is trained in Eventing, Hunter, Jumpers and Equitation.

Ok.So,of course I have to put in the part about my surgery and my weak ankle and thats why my toes turn out so much.And that my boots are too big,which is why I generally have too much foot in the stirrup.But other than that,nag away :)

Oh,and Im well aware that Im too big for the pony.Im not riding him anymore.Last time on Tuesday.

Training-

Jester rides English and Western, but is schooled more in English
Has free-jumped 2'6" (still working on those knees xD)
Has jumped a small course undersaddle at a trot (2 and under)
Highest jumped undersaddle was 2'
Great on trails, has the occasional spook, but very small. Can go alone or in a group.
Trailers great
Can hold a frame 100% at a walk, pretty consistent at the trot, working on his canter xD
Gets his leads, has done a couple flying changes undersaddle, but def. wouldn't call it consistent
Knows his lateral, vertical, and longitudinal flexes/stretches
Extremely responsive to your aids, but you have to be soft
Can be ridden in a rope hackamore, and is trained to move well off of pressure
Great NH groundmanners, respects your space
He excells at Liberty training (no ropes or leads)

Temperment & Health-

Barefoot, extremely hard feet
Never lame. sick, ect. in his life
Can be a bit spooky, especially when alone
Can get hyper, has alot of energy
No bite, buck, rear, kick, etc.
Has a gorgeously thick mane and tail for an Appy
Not registered, but can be
Will sometimes try to avoid the rail/coners of the arena, especially if he had a spook there\
His spooks are usually little shys and jumps, no bolting or anything
I would say he needs at least an advanced int. rider who knows about pressure/release
Needs to do groundwork before riding, or else he's a mental mess xD

Sorry its a bad angle. I think i am over jumping a little. And i know my leg slipped back. Bad Leg.

Me&Phantom. He was kinda being a butt. Like some days he's great and other days you can tell he's a 3 year old! And no comments about him being only 3 and jumping. We're only jumping 2ft max. and he's never been lame in his life. We take really good care of him :) He was kinda being bad, he almost threw me. We were cantering to a x-rail and he refused(kinda violently) and then let out a huge buck. But he's doing really good overall. Ok so my bff didn't really get good pics but bear with me :)

Free Jumping

I free jumped Jester up to 2'6" yesterday. He's super green to free jumping still, so don't be too harsh. I kinda already know what he needs to work on, but I'd like some other opinions.Critique his jumping form in general and whatever esle you see fit to critique. He's already jumped a small course 2' and under undersaddle.=)

Possible Buy

I looked at this horse back in April when I first started looking. I said no to him at the time one, because I didn't want to get the first horse I tried out. I wanted to check out the rest of the market first. And two, he was the first horse I rode after I fell off at a gallop, so I was a bit tense . . . ? Anyways, he's still available (We called the owner) One of the main reasons he's still for sale is she doesn't advertise him on the Internet.

Warm blood cross.
Gelding.

16hh.
Un-registered, no papers.
$6,500 obo.

He's trained VERY well, he responded to voice commands (walk, trot, canter.) He's trained in dressage, jumping, etc. Hasn't had any health problems that we know of. Trained up to first level, leg yields, shoulder in, haunches in, counter canter, lead changes, etc. Jumped up to 3'ish. Ridden by a 12-year-old over the summer. Loves to go on trails, and do cross country. Uh, I think that's it.

Completely ignore me, I look horrible. Especially over fences (I haven't jumped in about two months) The horse had a stronger bit in his mouth then he did before (Long story), so I was trying not to catch him in the mouth. And he hasn't be ridden in two weeks, or so. And I just relized I spelled leg yield wrong O.o

I had videos of him before, but I don't now. And I'm too lazy to charge the video camera and get a crumby video tape, of a tape. XP

I DO think the price is a little high, I'm not sure though. Mostly because he's got no papers, and is a WB cross, so he's not pure. Any opinions on his price would be nice too.

Price Shiloh

Shiloh is a 5 year old buckskin quarter horse cross. He is about 15 hands. (That is just an estimate, I never actually measured him.)

Training:

Goes english. I started neck reining him before I moved. Was ridden western though.
Can jump up to 3 feet with rider. Has room to go higher.
Jumps courses up to 2'6.
Good on trails, on the way home he doesn't even speed up. Likes to be in front and he will go fast to get there. He loves to lead.
Trailers good, only once he gave me trouble loading.
We were working on his frame.
Knows his leads, always gets them. He has done quite a few flying lead changes under saddle.
Never gets fussy with the bit.
He can be a little dominant, until you show him who is boss.
Been to many local shows, and places in all classes. He does get a little antsy in new places, but once you get on him and ride him he is fine.

Health & Temperment

Needs shoes on all feet. Was lame before I rode him, (when nobody rode him) but he is better with consistent riding.
Never been sick a day in his life.
Doesn't spook at anything.
Can get a little fresh if he hasn't been ridden in a a while, like, a week.
Not registered.

I had a great lesson Saturday, so how about you critique it. Jackson and me. Just keep in mind that he's used to 3+', not 2'3", so his legs aren't the tightest. We didn't jump real high because my trainer jumped him hard the day before. And I have no excuses for my riding, haha. Oh, except that it was only my 2nd time jumping in two months. Okay, that's it for excuses.
