| | Hey, everyone! I was wondering what tack you guys use for riding bareback. Like, do you use a bareback pad, or a halter, or what? I don't have a bareback pad, but i'm hoping to get one for my birthday, which is on the 13th. (Hint hint! ) I've heard it's bad to ride bareback in a bridle, too, so I usually just tie a leadrope onto my halter, and ride with it as a bridle. |

| | Uhm. It's definantly NOT bad to ride bareback with a bridle! It's the same thing as riding in a saddle & your bridle. There's really no difference.. but okay... I usually ride bareback meaning no bareback pad, just the horses skin :) & a bridle. If the horse is good then w/ halter&leadrope..

| I ride bareback with a regular bridle, and on occasions, I use a bareback pad. Mostly just regular bareback with no pad and a bridle. =)

-Shiloh, I will never forget you. I loved you more than any other horse and you taught me more than any other horse. I hope you are good for your new owner in Spring. <3 - |

| It's not bad for you to ride with a normal bridle. Especially in a show. ;) And if you're on a horse that needs a bit to be ridden and you wanna ride barback, you have more control. But the problem is, a lot of people who've never ridden bareback hang on the horses mouth for balance, and then grip with their whole leg, making the horse go faster and become nervous and excited sometimes and very ticked because of being hung on their mouth the whole time.

| | Hey, guys! Thanks for the responses. I guess i'm gonna have to try riding with a bridle. I thought it was painful for the horse, for some reason. Lol! |
