well i just wanted to let people know the reason my reins were so tight. they arent like that normally and i just wanted to let people know that its not like i always ride around yanking on her mouth. my trainer, 2 trainers that were watching me and another shower all suggested i tighten my rein because she was takin off on me multiple times. It has nothing to do with tight reins.
It has to with the fact your hanging off his/her mouth for balance, while your horse is resisting the contact for rider-related reasons.
Tight "concentrated" reins aren't a problem, it just the way your using them. You beat me to it.

| It looks to me like you are pulling yourself out of the saddle with your reins. I've done it once before and never again. It was when I was of lesser experience. And well, lets just say the horse didn't like it to much. :)

I know my trainer is constantly telling me that you could have the shortest reins in the entire world, and still have a soft feel on your horse's mouth or you could have the longest, most looped reins ever and still have a death grip.

oh sry clip clop that comment wasnt directed at you it was at someone else who i have a not so good hitory with.......but you are right. wow. SHUUUT UUUP!!! seriously you don't get it that you post in the critique me section to get critiqued, and many people here see that you are yanking on your horses mouth and you have a chair seat. as do i. i definately agree with clip clop's first post about everything, and btw, here is my critique. SO i can tell you are releying on your horses' reins for balance, thus making your horse uncomfortable, and you yanking, and i can tell because i assume you are posting in the photo? yes? good. I did the same thing until about a month ago because i didn't have a strong enough leg. If you ride without stirrups for about a month (as i did) it fixes literally everything stregthening the leg and thus fixing the whole yanking and tugging problem. Have a nice day!!
